The following disclosure applies to the Windows Desktop versions of NumberCruncher and QuickView: To help improve the software and your overall experience, we periodically collect information about the system and how it's used. Collected data is anonymous and safely stored in a protected database. We do NOT collect your PERSONAL information, and we NEVER share this information. Here's a breakdown of what we gather:
General Usage Information
This information is used to help us make the product better and enhance the user experience in future versions. The date is leveraged to optimize and prioritize improvements to the software.
- Session start & end time (local user time)
- Software version
- Device OS and version
- Screen resolution
- CPU
- Virtual Machine (yes or no)
- Time and Name of calculator used (i.e., 'GRAT' calculator used at 7:25 pm on March 3rd)
License Validation
License validation will be introduced in the coming months. To facilitate this, the following information is connected:
- License Key & Activation Code
- Device ID: This is a unique value generated from MAC address(s) on the respective device.
- Device Name: The name of the computer (i.e. 'Workstation-052')
- User Name: The name of the logged-in user (i.e. 'ACummings'). This is necessary to help differentiate users on shared systems like Citrix and Microsoft Remote Desktop where multiple users operate on the same device.
